Keynote at The Autonomous 2024 Highlights Europe's Path to Software-Defined Vehicles and Future Mobility

Vienna, September 24, 2024 – At The Autonomous main event in Vienna, Reiner John, Project Coordinator for ARCHIMEDES and Cynergy4MIE, delivered a compelling keynote speech during the Spotlight Session titled "Driving the Future: The Rise of Software-Defined Vehicles". The event, which focused on the evolution of autonomous driving and the future of mobility, provided a platform for discussing the critical role Europe must play in the rapidly changing automotive industry.

In his presentation, John highlighted both the challenges and opportunities facing Europe’s automotive sector as it contends with rising global competition. Central to the discussion was the necessity for Europe to maintain its competitive edge through the integration of innovative mobility solutions into existing infrastructure and energy systems.

A significant part of John’s keynote focused on the European ECSEL JU / KDT JU / Chips JU projects, providing an overview of their evolution over the past 15 years. He highlighted Cynergy4MIE, the latest in a series of projects following AI4DI, AI4CSM, A-IQ Ready, and ARCHIMEDES, each contributing to the convergence of mobility, infrastructure, and energy in support of Europe’s transition to Society 5.0.

John’s insights at The Autonomous 2024 spotlighted the critical need for Europe to embrace these advancements, positioning itself as a leader in the global race toward a future defined by software-driven, AI-enhanced, and energy-efficient vehicles.
